Microsoft SharePoint 14 (SharePoint 2009/2010) features

There is an official announcement from Microsoft on its SharePoint Technology event site that in Oct 2009 event in Las Vegas they are going to reveal features of new SharePoint Product release. From my understanding perspective I am seeing a much integrated version of WSS coming up or should be coming up in the release as it will be part of larger Microsoft Cloud computing. Features such as following could be part of the new system based on the trends and Microsoft movement on the technology. Please consider this as my guess only and do not interpret this at all as official information from Microsoft.

• Tight inbuilt integration with Groove
• Integration adaptors/web parts for all major MS products
• Native sliverlight support
• Improved Content editor.
• Fully bi directional communication with ease of out of box web part
• More Business Intelligence capabilities for MOSS, as PerformancePoint (check they have already started selling PerformancePoint as part of SharePoint from 1^st April 2009 not as individual)
• Easy file handling and out of box compliance templates and workflow.
• WSS 4.0 with native Microsoft application and OS support.
• More application templates for cross Microsoft product integration.
• Full use of .net 3.5 architecture.
• And the list will go on as I think per industry per scenario specific issues

More over the SharePoint Designer is made FREE by Microsoft recently (April 2 2009) which mean more powers to communities and developers to contribute further at codeplex.

I am eager to see it in action in Vegas this October.
